"Shannon McNamara" "Girl Scout" "SHARE in Africa" NATIONAL YOUNG WOMAN OF DISTINCTION, ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI

Shannon McNamara was named a "National Young Woman of Distinction" by Girl Scouts USA for demonstrating extraordinary leadership in founding SHARE. The National Young Women of Distinction honor is given by Girl Scouts of the USA to the top ten Girl Scout Gold Award recipients whose Take Action projects demonstrated outstanding leadership, had a measurable and sustainable impact, and addressed a local challenge related to a national and/or global issue. Shannon donated 100% of the award proceeds, $3000, to SHARE.

"Shannon McNamara" "UNITED NATIONS YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT RECOGNITION AWARD" "UN" "SHARE in Africa"

SHARE founder Shannon McNamara, along with two other recipients from China and South Korea, were honored by the United Nations for "significant contributions to humanitarian goals" at the Youth Achievement Assembly on August 6, 2010 in New York City.  Shannon promoted youth involvement and helped spread awareness for SHARE to 600 delagates, from 25 countries, attending the conference held at the UN. 

"Shannon McNamara"  "SHARE in Africa" SHARE "NATIONAL PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF THE COMMUNITY AWARD"

SHARE founder Shannon McNamara was named one of America's Tope 10 Youth Volunteers at a ceremony at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.   Selected from a field of of more than 21,000 applicants across the country, Shannon received a personal award of $6,000 and a $5,000 grant for SHARE.  Shannon donated the total $11,000 to fund SHARE programs.

Shannon McNamara was honored for her volunteer work with SHARE as a recipient of the New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Award

"Shannon Hill McNamara"  "SHARE in Africa" Hasbro Community Action Hero, New York

SHARE founder Shannon McNamara was honored as Hasbro Community Action Heroes by actress Sigourney Weaver at the Art of Giving Benefit in New York City.  Shannon donated the $1,000 prize money to SHARE.

SHARE's video,"Sharing Hope" was a finalist for the Nike Girl Effect Video Challenge.  "Sharing Hope" was made by Brendan McNamara.

 

The Gloria Barron Prize for young heroes "Shannon Hill McNamara"

The National Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes was awarded to SHARE founder, Shannon McNamara for heroic service activity.  The Barron Prize honors outstanding young leaders who have made a significant positive difference to people and our planet.   Shannon donated the $2,500 cash award to SHARE.

HUGGABLE HEROES FINALIST, ST. LOUIS, MO "Shannon Hill McNamara"

SHARE founder, Shannon McNamara was named a 2011 Huggable Hero and recognized by the Build-a-Bear Workshop for "selfless devotion to her community and Bearrific efforts on behalf of others."  Shannon donated the $10,000 prize to SHARE.  St. Louis TV station KSDK interviewed Shannon after she won the award.

Kids Who Give "SHARE in Africa"  McNamara

SHARE was selected as a First Place Winner in the 2011 Kids Who Give Contest, and received a $1,000 donation from Farm Rich.

"Sharing Hope," a six-minute documentary by Brendan McNamara on the origins of SHARE, was selected as a Finalist in the 2009 DoGooder TV Awards. 

RUSS BERRIE AWARD FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE "Shannon Hill McNamara" "SHARE in Africa"

SHARE founder, Shannon McNamara was awarded $5,000 by the Russ Berrie Award for Making a Difference, which honors Garden State residents for their unselfish dedication to serving others within the state.  The $5000 was donated to SHARE.

 

Desales University SHARE Chapter President and Founder John Bayeux was honored as SHARE's 2014 Volunteer of the Year at the 27th Annual Volunteer Recognition Night. 

Co-presidents Tiffany Chen and Robert Ju were honored as SHARE's 2013 Volunteers of the Year at the 26th Annual Volunteer Recognition Night.

SHARE's bookkeeper, Charlie Bender, was honored as SHARE's 2011 Volunteer of the Year at the 24th Annual Volunteer Recognition Night. 

"Shannon Hill McNamara" "Rice University" "Community service award"

This Alan Grob Prize was awarded to SHARE's founder, Shannon McNamara for her service to the larger community, and demonstrated devotion to the needs and interests of the economically and culturally disadvantaged.

The DeSales University SHARE Chapter was given the Reverend James Finnegan Community Service Award for Outstanding Organization, an award bestowed annually to a DeSales-run club that is committed to giving back to the community through time and acts of kindness. 

NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHT, VOLUNTEER MATCH

Volunteer Match chose SHARE for their monthly "Nonprofit Spotlight".  The spotlight was featured on the VolunteerMatch homepage, and also within their monthly nonprofit newsletter which is distributed to roughly 50,000 nonprofit administrators and volunteer managers.
