Nigel Barker

Nigel Barker, renowned fashion photographer, author, and judge and photographer on the reality show "America's Next Top Model," has volunteered in Tanzania and has seen first hand the difficulties for African girls.  Nigel spoke with SHARE founder, Shannon McNamara in Washington, DC at the UN Girl Up Pep Rally on January 12, 2011, and was very interested in hearing about SHARE's work in the East African country.  "As the father of a young daughter and son, I can attest to the undeniable power and spirit of today’s youth,” Nigel remarked. "Women are all too often disenfranchised especially in 3rd world countries. Girls here in the US have many more opportunities than their international sisters and together we need to stand together to create equality the world over. No matter your sex, your color or your age, you deserve to be treated with respect and allowed to live your life to the fullest."
